Welcome to Next Chapter Arts!

We are a Community Interest Company (C.I.C) based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, that offers a range of creative therapies and workshops to help people move forward in a new and positive direction. People can feel 'stuck' for lots of reasons and it can be a struggle to think positively about the future during difficult times. Choosing a creative therapy that suits you can help you explore your problems safely and prepare for the next chapter in your life with greater confidence and support. We offer Art Therapy (Art Psychotherapy), Drama Therapy, Music Therapy, and Dance/Movement Therapy. Sessions can be one to one, or they can be in a small group where peer support can be helpful and empowering.

We work with:

  • Adults and older people

  • Children and adolescents

  • People with disabilities

  • People with mental health problems

  • Those who are at risk

  • People with a diagnosis of autism

  • Those living with dementia

  • Survivors of domestic violence

Do I need to be good at art?

You don't need to be 'good at art' to benefit from any of our therapies or workshops.

The focus of art therapy is not on the quality of the product at the end of the session, but on the creative process during the artmaking session. we are there to support you and to help you find your own ways of expressing yourself creatively, and we understand this can sometimes take time. The art therapists are not there to judge you or the art you make, but to think with you about what might be behind what you make and any feelings you may have around it.
